Dane House.

Status: Planning.

This side extension project aims to improve the ground floor living spaces of an existing semi-detached period property. The proposals include opening up the living and kitchen areas through removing the existing columns and introducing high level beams. A new extension then provides a further sunken dining area and separate rear entrance to the home through a boot room and associated WC.

The changes in level faced with this property create an interesting and dynamic series of spaces which tier down from the living area at the highest point, down through the kitchen, and onwards into the dining area providing access to the garden. These changes in level help transition between the floor levels to outside, whilst maximising head height within a property that already benefits from a spacious feel.
