This completed extension transforms the rear of a detached property in Manchester, creating a more flexible kitchen and dining space designed around modern family living. The proposals replace an existing rear lean-to structure, using the same footprint to maximise the potential of the home while providing a more generous and functional open-plan arrangement.

The new extension creates a versatile living environment that supports both everyday family life and entertaining, with improved connections between the kitchen, dining area and garden. Large sliding doors provide direct access to the outdoor space, strengthening the relationship between the interior and the landscape beyond.

A key feature of the design is the asymmetrical roof form, incorporating high-level rooflights that introduce additional daylight while adding character and volume to the space. The result is a bright and practical extension that enhances the way the home is experienced throughout the day.
